We made awesome menorahs, played dreidel, and all kinds of new Chanukah Trivia Games. We heard some ancient Chanukah stories which helped us recognize the power of the Chanukah Lights through all generations.
Of course, on Chanukah itself, we celebrated with donuts, chocolate gelt and fun. We all made cards with "Chanukah gifts" in the form of a promise to do something better for our parents. Some of them read - "I promise to clean my room up without you asking...I will not talk back...I will make you breakfast...I will not bother you when you are trying to sleep." Now, that's talking chanukah gifts!
We played Chanukah Hangman which lead us to our Chanukah presents and sang Chanukah songs to top the party off!
Chabad made history in Gloucester county this year with our first Chanukah On Ice featuring a hand-carved Menorah made of genuine ice carved by an ice artist. We were so glad that our Hebrew School families were there to participate in the fun and in the momentous event.
May the light of Chanukah shine forever strong in your lives as you, our Hebrew School students and families, carry on the torch, the light, and the traditions who make our People who they are. Happy Chanukah!
